01 · Local computation

CRC, bit timing, DBC parsing and machining calculators run entirely in page JavaScript. Beyond fetching the page files themselves, no request carries your input.

02 · What we store on your device

We do not use cookies. Three functional preferences are kept in browser localStorage: CANPEEK_LOCALE (language), CANPEEK_THEME (light/dark/system) and CANPEEK_CONSENT (ad consent, only written once ads are enabled). These are strictly necessary for the interface, contain no identifiers, are never sent to a server, and can be cleared at any time in your browser site data.

03 · Cookies and third parties

As of 2026-11-07, the site loads no third-party scripts, remote fonts, analytics or ad SDKs, and sets no first-party cookies. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; its edge network may process access logs and IP addresses and set strictly necessary security cookies for delivery and abuse prevention.

04 · Future advertising and your consent

Ad slots exist in the code but the switch is currently disabled. If Google AdSense or similar services are enabled later, the ad script is loaded and allowed to set cookies only after you explicitly consent. With no choice, "Necessary only", or a GPC / DNT signal, no ad script is loaded at all. The difference between personalised and non-personalised ads, the vendor list and opt-out links will be published here at that time. For personalised ads in the EEA / UK / Switzerland, a Google-certified IAB TCF v2.2 consent platform will be used.

05 · Feedback

If feedback is enabled later, a submitted message, the originating tool page and a salted IP hash for rate limiting would be kept for 180 days. Feedback is currently disabled and no such data is collected.

06 · Analytics

No analytics or measurement service is currently enabled. Earlier versions of this page mentioned aggregate analytics; enabling it in the future will be preceded by an update to this section and consent where required.

07 · Your choices

Clear browser site data to remove the preferences above. Once ads are enabled, "Ad & cookie settings" in the footer shows and resets your consent; resetting immediately stops third-party ad loading. Declining ads never affects any tool.

08 · Scope and updates

This site is intended for engineers, not children, and does not knowingly collect childrens personal information. Requirements that apply in your jurisdiction may add further rights. Policy changes update the effective date above, and material changes are highlighted on the site.
